Anthony Wayne 'Tony' Herrmann

August 28, 1958 — May 27, 2019

Anthony Wayne “Tony” Herrmann was born August 28, 1958 to Bobby Leonard and Della Jean Todd Herrmann. He spent his early life in the Cahone and Pleasant View area. His dad was a farmer and Tony started driving a tractor and working in the field when he was just six years old. As a young man he developed a love for the great outdoors. He was an avid and skilled hunter, spending as much time as he could in the woods.
He was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on June 9, 1974 along with the love of his life, Terri Lyn Lowe. They married on September 16, 1976. To this union were born four children; Travis, Trent, Megan, and infant daughter April. After Brad’s father passed, Tony took him under his wing. Brad spent many hours with the family and looked up to Tony as a father.
Tony loved his young family. They were always busy hunting, camping, and riding 4-wheelers. His sense of adventure led him to pursue many interests including getting his pilot’s license and learning to play the guitar. As a young man, Tony worked in construction then later became a truck driver, owing his own business. He loved driving his truck and enjoyed the friendships he made during this time.
Though he loved many things in this life, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family and God’s people. The family travelled, visiting churches and brethren across the country. They established many lifelong friendships in their travels and enjoyed hosting these friends in their home.
In August of 2000, Tony was ordained as an elder in Arriola, Colorado. He was very committed to this work and to his ministry. He labored unselfishly to help the family of God and further the gospel; setting his own tasks aside when help was needed. Anytime he saw the brethren, his genuine love and care showed through as he smiled and said, “I’m glad to see ya.” Whenever he could, Tony would share his understanding of the Bible with younger men. Even in his final weeks, his eyes would light up as he began to talk about the scripture.
Nothing brought Tony more joy than time spent with his grandchildren. Whether working, playing, or teaching them to hunt and fish; he was a loving, proud Papa. They will remember him playing his guitar, singing, and telling jokes. He made things fun whether working in the trailer yard with Cole or curling up on the couch to watch a movie with his grandbabies.
He leaves behind his wife Terri of the family home. His children Travis and wife Amy, Trent and wife Felicia, Megan and husband Jason. His grandchildren, Cole Herrmann, Clay Herrmann, Gage Seaburn, Chloe’ Seaburn, Zane Herrmann, Silas Herrmann, Odessa Clevenger, Zoe Clevenger, and Jett Clevenger. His brothers, Royce Herrmann and wife Roxanna, and Aron Herrmann. His sisters, Devie Jacquez and husband Don, Darla Herrmann, Angela Malcolm and husband Alan. Many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and brethren. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.
