Aleene Maude Neely

Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident Aleene Maude Neely will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2020 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Mr. Raymond Boyd will officiate. Interment will follow at Cahone Cemetery.
Aleene was born August 1, 1931 in Egnar, CO the daughter of Frank Pepper and Elsie Maude (Knuckles) Buffington. She passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at her residence at the age of 88.
Surviving Aleene are her children, Dallas George Neely (Leslie) of Lacey, WA, Marilyn Jean O’Brien (Don) of Cortez, CO, and Dewey Lynn Neely (Shelly) of Aledo, TX; her brothers, Ray Buffington and Glenn Buffington; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Aleene was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Raymond (Pete) Neely; her sons, Dennis Raymond Neely and Douglas Leroy Neely; her grandson, Chris Neely; and her siblings, Gladys McFarland, George Buffington, Dorothy Johnson, Zeb Vingar, Belle Ivie, Hazel Allen, and Shirley Diedrich.
